Leading the charge for the contemporary music program for the 2013 incarnation is Bristol electronic duo Fuck Buttons who are currently riding high following the release of their third studio album Slow Focus. Joining them on the two week extravaganza are the likes of Yo La Tengo, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Polyphonic Spree, Cody ChesnuTT, Ólafur Arnalds, Caitlin Rose and Henry Wagons, Flight Facilities, Hiatus Kaiyote, Steve Mason, Quique Neira, WERK, Husky and Dexter.

Some of the many artistic highlights include the opening of Trams: Moving Pictures which will showcase the illustrious history of trams in Melbourne and their artistic iconography. The festival will also host a three-part series, Brahms vs Wagner, that delves into classical masterminds Brahms and Wagner, including a performance of their most acclaimed pieces by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. If that entices you, then virtuoso Richard Tognetti’s appearance on the Artists In Conversation series will thrill you; other guests lined-up include from Dennis Sindrey (The Caribs), Bruce Hearne (Strange Tenants) and Daniel Schlusser from the Daniela Schlusser Ensemble.

Most excitingly, the Foxtel Festival Hub will be returning after a hugely successful debut at the 2012 festival.
