2011 will be the year of Sia Furler – the Adelaide born singer songwriter will be taking her show on the road this year with a tour that kicks off in Melbourne and wraps up in her very own hometown.

The national tour comes with the release of her fifth studio album, We Are Born, courtesy of Monkey Puzzle and Inertia. Sia’s sound has evolved over the years since her first album in the mid-nineties with Word and Deal, with her career not really finding it’s niche until she moved it to London and got involved with projects like Six Feet Under.

We Are Born has a much more enthusiastic feel to it, as opposed to her earlier work. The ballads of old have been replaced with a more fun and frivolous attitude that has landed her in the pop charts with producer Greg Kurstin (Ke$ha, Britney Spears). Her emotional side still lies deep within the music – it’s just hiding behind a new upbeat face.

After twelve months of sell out tours and achieving Critical Acclaim at the 2010 ARIA Awards, Sia will be bringing her new sound back Down Under, not only with concerts in three major cities, but also with an appearance at the Big Day Out.

Visit www.siamusic.net or www.civilsociety.com.au for information about her shows. Sia will grace The Melbourne Palais Theatre, Sydney Enmore Theatre and Adelaide Thebarton Theatre in February 2011. Tickets on sale Monday November 29.
