Today’s MICF Daily News:

– It’s the first Tightarse Tuesday for the festival, with cut price tickets available for many acts on tonight. Big names available for next to nix tonight include Abigoliah SchamaunAlex WilliamsonGreg Fleet and Hannah Gadsby to name but a few. – Charlie Pickering and Waleed Aly are on the move! Following Sunday’s meeting of the minds where the duo came up with ideas on climate change as part of show 
The World’s Problems Solved, The Project correspondents will move from the Melbourne Town Hall’s Lower Town Hall to the larger RMIT Capitol Theatre this Saturday. All tickets are valid for the new venue, with an extra batch of tickets now on sale at Ticketmaster.

– Comedy Pick ‘n Mix, Janet A Mcleod’s 30 minute sampler has also added extra shows all week long. With four acts on each show, at $12 a ticket how can you go wrong? Tonight’s 6pm show features Josh Earl, Yianni, Asaf Gerchak, and Damien Smith; with the 7.15pm show featuring Geraldine HickeyGavin BaskervilleMatt Elsbury, and Jacques Barrett. The show takes place at Three Degrees at the QV, tickets on sale now at TryBooking.



– New festival venue Comedy on Collins launches today. The Scots’ Church Assembly Hall Building will host ten shows throughout the day, including Charles BarringtonBeau Steggman, and future MICF Daily guest Nicholas J. Johnson.  The venue is located 156 Collins St, just up from the Anthenaeum Theatre and around the corner from the Melbourne Town Hall.


– Eddie Pepitone arrives at MICF today, taking part in Headliners until the end of the week. The cult favourite of America’s stand-up scene, Pepitone will perform spots with Michael Che and Pete Holmes. You can see Eddie every night through Saturday, 9.45pm at the Lower Town Hall. Pepitone will also appear in a solo hour long show this Friday night at 11pm, and this Saturday as part of documentary The Bitter Buddah, 4pm at the Hi-Fi Bar.

– The first ever Bright Club Melbourne takes place 6pm tonight at the Melbourne Brain Centre in Parkville. Bright Club will see comedians, musicians, and brain researchers join forces to put on a “thinking person’s variety show”. The show will be hosted by Ben McKenzie with music from Catherine Deveny, and will feature talks from Shawna Farquharson, Jee Hyun Kim, Elizabeth Manning, Monique Ryan, Chris Tailby, and David Hawkes. The show is sold out, however limited tickets may be available at the door.

– LATE NIGHT: After an evening off, The Festival Club returns this evening with Comedy Up Late – an extra huge night of comedy being filmed for ABC2. Up Late takes over The Hi-Fi Bar tonight from 11.15pm, get your tickets at the door. For those who are in a witness protection program but insist on seeing a late night variety show, The After Party returns to the Exford Hotel at 10.30pm.
