Awards: The festival awards were given out at Festival Club last night, here are your winners:

Chris Menzies took home the Funny Tonne, seeing over 156 shows during the 26 days of the festival.

The Golden Gibbo for the festival’s best independent show went to the Fancy Boy Variety Show.

The Piece of Wood award, given out by comedians for comedians went to the Sarah Kendall.

The Director’s Choice award, awarded by festival director Susan Provan was given to Ronny Chieng.

The AirBNB People’s Choice award went to Wil Anderson.

The Melbourne Airport Best Newcomer was awarded to Stella Young.

And the Barry Award for festival’s best show went to Denise Scott.

Special EventsThe 28th Annual Brian McCarthy Memorial Moosehead Awards Benefit takes place tonight at the Town Hall. Featuring a mystery lineup of the best and biggest up and comers, the show helps fund the Moosehead Awards, giving comedians assistance to put on ambitious shows. See the Benefit 8pm tonight at the Melbourne Town Hall. Tickets from Ticketmaster.

Another one-off event tonight: a special Easter Sunday edition of Come Heckle Christ. 10.30pm tonight at the Tuxedo Cat.

The (very) Big Laugh Out is on all day at the City and Federation Squares. Today at the City Square Pitch: Yo-Yo People at 11.30am, and Ong-als in Babbling Comedy at 12.30pm. Then at 2.30pm until 4pm OzStar Airlines hosts the big show at Federation Square with Ong-als in Babbling ComedyYo-Yo PeopleAsher Treleaven, and Rani Huszar. Entry is free.

The Little Dum Dum Club records another live edition of their podcast. 5pm today at Five Boroughs in Hardware Lane. The boys are also holding a special late night unrecorded Dunkcast at 10pm for ticket holders of today’s or any previous Dum Dum live shows. Tickets from littledumdumclub.com or on the door.

More Comedy: While the festival may end tonight, comedy keeps on going in Melbourne throughout the year. Spleen Bar hosts Comedy at Spleen on Monday nights at 8.30pm, but if you’re in St Kilda catch Local Laughs at the Local Taphouse. Tuesdays means Puggs in Space at the Imperial Hotel. Harold Night happens at the Dan O’Connell on Wednesday’s, as does the Impy Open Mic at the Imperial. On Thursday’s, Five Boroughs Comedy takes over, while The Big Hoo-Haa holds fort at the Portland Hotel. And on Fridays, get down to Brackets at the Butterfly Club in the CBD. Roadshow: For those of you who didn’t get enough comedy this month, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Roadshow Tour kicks off next Tuesday in Townsville, with the first Victorian show in Newport on Saturday. 2015 Festival: And if you’re planning for the 2015 festival, it will run from Wednesday March 25 to Sunday April 19.

And a last minute reminder, most shows start an hour earlier on Sunday’s. Double check your tickets before heading off to the festival.
