Sound Summit Looking for Festival Co-Director

soundsummit.jpg

This Newcastle-based festival is looking for someone to help at the helm.

Sound Summit – the music part of This Is Not Art (TINA) is looking for a creative, energetic and highly organised individual to work with Festival Co-Directors Chris Hearn and Kirsty Brown on the 2011 and 2012 festivals.

Sound Summit exists to give musicians, producers, composers, promoters and fans the opportunity to interact, reflect and collaborate with each other, building communities around what they do and exploring the methodologies of why and how they do it. The festival explores the depths and reach of independent, innovative music in Australia.

The position is a great opportunity to really immerse yourself in innovative and experimental music as well as connect with heaps of creative, musical individuals.

Sound Summit happens annually for five days over the October long weekend. It is held in Newcastle, NSW, along with Electrofringe, National Young Writers Festival, Critical Animals and Crack Theatre Festival. In 2011 the festival will take place from September 29 – October 3

There’s more information and a detailed job description at the Sound Summit website. Applications close on November 15.
