Laneway 2013 Rumour Roundup

The ever-delightful Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, has confirmed she will be touring Australia early February, a timeframe that coincides all too nicely with Laneway. UPDATE: Cat Power has been ruled out by Laneway organisers.

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s looking likely that Japandroids will be bringing their Celebration Rock around the country with Laneway.

Could we see 2011 Laneway alumni Yeasayer make their return to the festival in 2013?

Indie superstar collective Divine Fits have just released their debut album, meaning Britt Daniel and co. would be a smart choice

Laneway have once again hinted that the 2013 lineup will feature more than a few choice female-fronted acts – Purity Ring, Alpine, Wild Flag are all fitting candidates.

The Laneway Twitter account recently gave shouts out to A$AP Rocky – could the A$AP Mob be making their Australian debut?

Queens rapper Action Bronson dropped the news that he would be visiting Australia and New Zealand very soon.

Laneway are also boasting a top-shelf roster of local talent for 2013 – we’re thinking acts such as Collarbones, Oh Mercy, Wintercoats, Twerps and Catcall would make a perfect fit.

With a demo just released into the world, it looks like we might finally be hearing a follow-up to Since I Left You sometime in the future. It’s wishful thinking, but having The Avalanches as Laneway headliners would be an all-too perfect way for the elusive outfit to declare their return to the music world.
