Gee, can you believe it's been 20 years already?

Sparta, the band that rose from the ashes of At The Drive-In, is all set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album Wiretap Scars by playing that seminal album in full. Catch them when they head to Melbourne for a show at Melbourne’s own Croxton on May 18 next year.

“We made the decision early on in the tour to just play the album all the way through without any talking – and I like to talk!” says  Jim Ward. “Because we know what the album means to you all and we wanted you to be able to live in those memories.”

This legendary album encapsulates the quintessential elements of At The Drive-In – razor-sharp guitar riffs, aggressively churning punk grooves, and emotionally charged vocals that’ll leave your lungs shredded in the best possible way.

But Wiretap Scars goes beyond that, delivering darker textures, quieter interludes, smoother performances, and slower tempos, creating a soundscape that’s both raw and refined.

For fans who have been eagerly waiting for this moment, Sparta will be performing Wiretap Scars in its entirety, giving you the opportunity to relish every track from this seminal record. From the anthemic Cut Your Ribbon to the epic live favourites Air and Collapse, Sparta promises to take you on an unforgettable musical journey that will leave you screaming for an encore.

Sparta has a reputation for their electrifying live performances, and this show is guaranteed to be an explosive celebration of Wiretap Scars.
