Comedians come together in ‘Stand Up For Christchurch’ benefit

All proceeds will be donated to The Christchurch Foundation’s Our People, Our City fund.

In the wake of the horrific violence of the recent Christchurch terrorist attack, the world has seemed pretty bleak. Despite the ugliness highlighted by the hateful act, the resulting outpouring of solidarity, strength and legislative change has sparked hope. In order to do their bit for our New Zealand neighbours, Australia’s biggest comedy stars are coming together to perform a massive benefit for The Christchurch Foundation’s Our People, Our City fund.

The all-star lineup features Arj Barker, Urzila Carlson, Joel Creasey, Frida Deguise, Dave Hughes, Nazeem Hussain, Jimeoin, Tommy Little, Luke McGregor, Matt Okine, Celia Pacquola, Cal Wilson, Steph Tisdell and many more, each donating their time to perform at the charity event.

‘Stand Up For Christchurch’ will be hosted by MC Nazeem Hussain who was overwhelmed by the positive response to the event. “This line up came together miraculously quick,” he said. “Comedians normally take 48 hours to respond to anything. They all texted back within two minutes. There’s clearly so much love to give from the comedy community.”

This event is guaranteed to sell out, so get on those tickets pronto and stand against hate with some of our country’s funniest people.
