New Jersey’s Screaming Females have sold out the Curtin this Saturday, but have announced a show at The Old Bar on Monday August 8, and it’s going to be the best. I want to see all of you down there for one of the best punk rock bands around. If you miss this you better be dead or in jail and if you’re in jail, breakout. In the immortal words of Dipper: “Be there.”

It’s a month out from Screaming Females’ debut Australian tour and I couldn’t be more excited. Since I first heard their 2010 album Castle Talk six years ago I knew there was no one like this band that I had ever heard. A perfect blend of sharp and tight indie rock with just enough punk attitude and ridiculous guitar shredding, the band is leagues ahead of any of their contemporaries...

On behalf of High Tension’s Karina Utomo: “First show with Deafheaven and Hope Drone on Friday night was well-attended by a diverse and discerning audience; I felt that sense of celebration of a cross-section of metal. I am disheartened to address that it was overshadowed by a shitty incident and sadly one that is not an anomaly. A member of the audience was groped by another member...
