As part of Australia’s Top 100 Short Film Competition, special feature The Eleven O’Clock is set to be showcased. Directed by Derrin Seale and starring Josh Lawson and Damon Herriman, the film explores a delusional patient of a psychiatrist who believes he’s actually the psychiatrist.

The other films to feature include Fish with Legs, a comedy/animation about a school of fish you wake up to find they’ve grown legs as well as Big City which explores the simplicity of some of the friendships you make. Eaglehawk will also be shown – a gripping drama directed Shannon Murphy.

The festival’s SoundKILDA is a special exploration into some of the most memorable music videos released by Australian artists. Expect to see clips from Courtney Barnett, Client Liaison, Ball Park Music, Lisa Mitchell, Dena Amy and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

The Big Picture also comes to St Kilda. As one of Australia’s biggest free filmmaker development programs the program is complete with forums, workshops and couch conversations with leading industry professionals.

Virtual Reality (VR) Cinema also makes its arrival to the St Kilda Film Festival where free screenings of a selection of short films and music videos will be held, so get ready to immerse your mind and enter into space.

The aforementioned features come in combination with the already announced Graham Kennedy: The King of TV, the Tokyo Short Shorts Film Festival and Short Black. The festival kicks off with a special opening night on Thursday May 18 at the newly restored Palais Theatre.
