The writer behind Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and Red Dog, the international best-selling author is also a philosophy graduate, mechanic, teacher and mandolin player and winner of the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Novel.
He’ll speak at the start of annual festival, which will feature more than 400 writers and thinkers across 11 days.
